Tim Brown
Managing Director

You can take the boy out of the farm but not the farm out of the boy! Tim Brown, the Practice owner, farm 250 acres in a beautiful valley near Dursley. Tim is a farmer’s son and grew up with a dairy herd, which he milked and managed until breaking his leg playing rugby in 2001. Having made the switch to accountancy and training with a firm of agricultural accountants, there was always a natural specialism that Tim could bring to the table. In 2013 Tim took over management of the family suckler herd, which now consists of around 60 British Blue sucklers and a big Aberdeen Angus bull that produce quality store animals for market.

Tim’s engagement with the farm has furthered his insight into agriculture and made him acutely aware of some of the day to day issues that farmers are having to face. This includes a wider understanding of some of the unusual aspects of farming business’ such as family relationships and the overriding importance of taking care of animals and crops. Tim has two sons, Henry and George, who are regularly seen helping on the farm and sometimes in the office!

So if you are a farmer looking for someone who is straight talking, not looking to blind you with jargon and able to talk exactly the same language then please get in touch to join our growing base of farming clients. As well as farming, Tim’s experience over the last 20 odd years mean that there aren’t too many business issues that he hasn’t experienced, and he is always happy to help clients in whatever way he can. Tim became a fellow ACCA member in 2005.

Dan Whittaker
Director

Dan is a local lad as well, coming from Stroud, and living locally - and is also a rugby nut who is still managing to get out on the pitch occasionally! Dan has 4 sons which keep him very busy too, and has a similarly strong sense of family. Dan is ATT qualified and oversees all accounts production matters. Dan joined Tim in 2017, having worked for some other local firms, and has enjoyed the challenge of creating a service for clients based on experience. Both directors believe that a friendly, calm, relaxed approach is the only way to deliver professional services, and strive to make it as easy for their clients as possible

Tim and Dan are ably supported by a great team, of Lucy Peare, Kim Matthews, Dominique Ford and Claire Whittaker, with Murray Thorn providing payroll expertise. The team are all friendly and helpful and help provide the best possible service for clients.
